Backstage
It all started with Majed (@bojaber) itching for a place to read interesting articles and have lengthy conversations with other fellow enthusiasts, the problem was that the language barrier was a constant struggle since almost all social media is geared towards Left-To-Right languages which makes it difficult to find the Arab in the haystack!
The solution was to start a Natively-Arabic platform, obviously.
Adding Right-To-Left support to a website or app will magically increase the number of Arabic-Speaking users on your platform! Amazing!
Once the prototype for Dwanya went live several users showed promising skills in community building and maintaining a steady stream of content, those users are the creators and managers of their own communities on the platform, and some of them have been invited to join the work backstage for tasks like translation, social media promotion, and design.
Posting good memes on the internet is now a skill you can add to your resume!
We are building the place we want to live in, and who doesn’t like a good hearty laugh in the middle of a brain-picking philosophical conversation? Come one come all, let’s have a nice little chat about the things that we do and love over tea and music!
Eliminate Language Barriers
Natively in Arabic, there’s no need to rethink your phrasing in a second language or wrestle an AI for an Arabic idiom it cannot translate. Just say the words and they are understood!

Believe it or not, statistics show that most Arabic-speaking content is posted to non-Arabic-speaking websites! Adding support to the language has always been an afterthought with the big players, and the little players? Well… they don’t even support it!
